Video trimmer
Cut the dead air from the start of a recording, keep only the demo from a long call, or clip a highlight for social. Set the start and end against the playhead and download — the video is cut without re-encoding wherever possible, so it keeps its original quality.
How cutting without re-encoding works
Compressed video stores a full picture only every few seconds, at keyframes; the frames between are changes from the last one. Copying the stored frames as they are is fast and loses nothing, which is how this trimmer works by default.
When a cut falls between keyframes, only the frames around the cut are re-encoded so the clip starts exactly where you set it. The rest of the video is copied untouched.
Questions
How do I trim a video?
Add the video, play it to the point where the clip should begin and select Set to current playhead under Start, then do the same for End. Choose Trim video and download.
Does trimming reduce quality?
No. The video is copied without re-encoding wherever possible, so the trimmed clip has the same quality as the original.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is cut in your browser and never leaves your device.
Can I make the video smaller as well?
Use the video compressor, which has the same trim controls plus resolution and quality settings.
Which formats can I trim?
MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV. The trimmed clip is saved as MP4.
