Social media image resizer
One launch post needs a square, a portrait, a story, a landscape link image and a thumbnail — five crops of the same picture, each with a different safe area. Add the image once, set the point that must stay in frame, and export every format at the platform's upload size.
Fill or fit
Fill and crop covers the whole frame and trims what falls outside it. Use it for photography and anything without text near the edges. The focal point decides which part survives each crop.
Fit inside keeps the entire image and fills the remaining space with a blurred copy or a solid colour. Use it for slides, charts, screenshots and graphics with text, where cropping removes information.
Stories and Reels place the account name at the top and the caption and buttons at the bottom. Keep text and faces in the middle 70% of a 9:16 frame.
Questions
Is my image uploaded?
No. Resizing runs in your browser on the image already on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so confidential launch assets stay private.
Which file type should I export?
JPG for photographs: smallest files, and every platform accepts it. PNG for graphics, screenshots and anything with sharp text, where JPG compression shows. WebP is smaller than both, but not every platform accepts it for upload.
Why does a format say it is upscaled?
The source image is smaller than that format, so it is enlarged to fill it, and enlarged images look soft. Use a source at least as large as the biggest format selected — 2560 pixels wide covers every format here.
What size is an Instagram post?
1080 × 1350 pixels for a portrait post, which takes the most space in the feed, and 1080 × 1080 for a square post. Stories and Reels are 1080 × 1920.
What size is a LinkedIn post image?
1200 × 627 pixels for a landscape image, or 1080 × 1080 for a square image, which takes more space in the mobile feed. A personal profile banner is 1584 × 396.
What size is a YouTube thumbnail?
1280 × 720 pixels, a 16:9 ratio. YouTube recommends keeping the file under 2 MB; a JPG export at this size is well below that.
