How the draw is fair

Winners are drawn with the Web Crypto random number generator — the source browsers use for encryption keys — and a Fisher–Yates shuffle with rejection sampling, so no entry is even fractionally more likely than another.

The rolling names before the result are only a reveal: the winners are decided the instant you select Pick a winner. For a public giveaway, screen-record the draw and share the copied record alongside the announcement.

How do I pick a random winner for an Instagram giveaway?

Copy the usernames of everyone who entered — from the comments or your entry form — paste them one per line, and select Pick a winner. Keep Remove duplicate entries on so each person has one chance.

Is the draw truly random?

Yes. It uses the browser's cryptographic random generator with unbiased sampling, which is stronger than the randomness most online pickers use.

Can I draw more than one winner?

Yes. Set the number of winners and runners-up; all are drawn in one pass without repeats.

Are the entries stored?

No. The list stays in your browser and is not uploaded.

Can I run several rounds from one list?

Yes. With Exclude previous winners on, people who have already won are left out of later draws until you reset.
