llms.txt generator
llms.txt is a Markdown file at the root of a site that gives AI assistants a short, curated map of it: what the company does, the facts to get right, and the pages worth reading. Import your sitemap to start, keep the pages that answer real questions, and download a file in the llmstxt.org format.
About the site
One or two sentences: what the company does and for whom. Written as a blockquote.
Optional. Pricing, integrations, markets — facts an assistant should get right.
Import from sitemap
Paste your sitemap.xml or a list of URLs. Pages are grouped into sections by their first path segment.
Links in a section named Optional may be skipped by assistants with limited context.

What to include
Curate rather than copy the sitemap. An llms.txt with twenty well-described pages is more useful to an assistant than one listing every blog post: product and pricing pages, documentation, comparison pages, and the guides that answer your customers’ most common questions.
Put stable, factual information in the Key facts block — pricing, integrations, supported markets. These are the details assistants most often get wrong when they infer them from scattered pages.
llms.txt is a proposed convention, not a standard every assistant reads yet. It costs little to maintain and complements, rather than replaces, robots.txt, structured data and clear page content.
Questions
What is llms.txt?
A proposed file, published at /llms.txt, that summarises a website for large language models: a title, a short description, and sections of links with notes on what each page covers. The format is defined at llmstxt.org.
Where do I put the llms.txt file?
At the root of your domain, so it is served at https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt, as plain text. Most hosting platforms and content management systems let you upload a file to the root.
Do ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity read llms.txt?
Support varies and is changing. Some AI tools and coding assistants fetch it when given a site; search-based assistants rely mainly on crawling. Publishing one is low effort and makes your preferred summary available to any tool that looks for it.
What is the difference between llms.txt and robots.txt?
robots.txt tells crawlers what they may access. llms.txt tells language models what is worth reading and how to understand it. One is about permission, the other about guidance.
Is my sitemap uploaded?
No. The sitemap is parsed in your browser.
