Instagram carousel splitter

A seamless carousel makes one image continue across every swipe. Add a panorama or a wide design, choose how many slides and the format, and download the slides numbered in posting order. The cut lines are exact, so nothing is lost or repeated at the seams.

Designing for the seams

  • Keep faces and text away from the dashed cut lines. A word split across two slides is read as two fragments.
  • Let a shape or line cross each seam on purpose. It signals that the image continues and invites the swipe.
  • Make the first slide work on its own. It is the only one most people see in the feed.
  • Use portrait 4:5 slides. They take the most height in the feed on both Instagram and LinkedIn.

Questions

How do I make a seamless Instagram carousel?

Create or choose one wide image, add it here, set the number of slides, and download. Upload the slides to Instagram in numbered order as a single carousel post.

What size should the source image be?

For portrait slides, the slide count times 1080 pixels wide and 1350 pixels tall — 3240 × 1350 for three slides. Smaller images work but are enlarged, which softens them; the tool shows by how much.

Does Instagram crop carousel slides?

Every slide in a carousel takes the shape of the first one. Exporting all slides at the same size, as this tool does, keeps the seams aligned.

Can I use this for LinkedIn?

Yes. LinkedIn image carousels display 1080×1350 and 1080×1080 images the same way. For a swipeable PDF document post, combine the slides with the Merge PDF tool.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is split in your browser.
